Trailers in March 2001. The 31' back trailer was re-built in 2001. The front 28' trailer was finished in 2004. The trailers were manufactured in 1992 but because of the de-icing salts used on the Canadian roads, the side panels and slope sheets were rusted through in many places and needed replacement.

The panels are removed and replaced one at a time, to keep from distorting the trailer frame.
Sheets are plasma cut from the trailer and the frame is then ground smooth of old weld and paint, leaving clean metal to weld the new panel to.

The new metal was sprayed with a 5% solution of phosphoric acid, buffed with Scotch-brite pads, and here the finish layer of paint is being applied. Caterpillar Yellow was chosen to match the color of the Challenger 75 that pulls the trailers.
