I swear,
taking pics of that Gleaner in action is a real test. Normal speed is 4.5 to
7.5 mph, and that's on the combine speed display, which according to the
radar on the cat is at least 10% low. Trying to be in the right place with
the dig cam and getting the shot framed, with the proper zoom and light
settings is just like trying to take a pic of a fleeing herd of wild
animals. In fact, the combine operator and his wife want to have the
video-cam in the cab of the combine, so they can take some 'blooper' pics of
old dad as he properly positions for the next shot, misses it, runs to a new
place, arrives out-of-breath, and misses that one too. Add to all this, dig
cams seem to have just a little delay from the time the button is pushed to
when the pic is recorded, just adds to the fun. Jeepers key-riced, you gotta
lead the thing, just like a bull elk charging through the timber
Probably
best that I didn't let the kids borrow the camera though, as I'm sure no one
would want to see Ed's follies as he tried to get some half way decent pics.
